My wife and I had a wonderful stay here to celebrate her birthday, and every aspect of our experience was exceptional. The staff were outstanding—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Our room was beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The dining experience was equally impressive, with delicious food crafted from high-quality ingredients and served with impeccable hospitality. Every detail of our stay was thoughtfully managed, making it truly special. For anyone looking to escape reality and indulge in a remarkable experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. We will certainly be returning.

Friendly staff, very dog friendly. Amazing views. In the middle of nowhere. Only had a drink but it's a popular spot so if you plan to eat, book ahead.

Up in hills of Yorkshire... miles from anywhere. Log fire and decent food. Try it my friends.

Advertised that they serve food from 11am, travelled an hour up to be told they don’t serve food until 12. Both the website and the menu state 11am, the barmaid couldn’t have cared less. Complete lack of customer service, she stated it has been this way for months - so they simply can’t be bothered to change this. As a lot of people travel up here, it would be helpful to have the correct information advertised. What a shame.

The Tan Hill is such a unique experience and we stop off there on our way to the Lake District to have some lunch and stretch our legs. The staff, beer and food are all great. You won’t be disappointed if you go out of your way to visit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Tan Hill Inn: The Ultimate Countryside Adventure The Tan Hill Inn proudly holds the title of Britain’s highest pub, perched at 1,732 feet (528 meters) above sea level. Nestled in the remote Yorkshire Dales, it’s a journey just to reach this iconic establishment. Upon arrival, we discovered that the so-called “locals” we chatted with weren’t exactly next-door neighbours - they lived over 7 miles away! Their warmth and eagerness to share stories made us feel right at home, even if their definition of “local” is a bit more expansive than ours. The inn is renowned for its dark skies, making it a prime spot for stargazing. However, our plans were thwarted by the ever-unpredictable British weather; rain clouds obscured the celestial display we’d hoped for. I’d even packed my binoculars in anticipation! Navigating the car park in pitch darkness proved to be an adventure in itself. We spent a good 29 minutes searching for our car, relying on the faint glow of our phones and a healthy dose of humour to guide us. The landlords and bar staff were exceptionally helpful, serving up hearty pub grub that hit the spot after our trek. Despite the rain dampening our stargazing ambitions, the cozy atmosphere inside more than made up for it. As Londoners, we couldn’t help but chuckle at the locals’ enthusiastic recommendations for other Yorkshire sights and village events. Who do they think we are? We’re city folk, after all! 😅 In summary, the Tan Hill Inn offers a unique blend of isolation, charm, and community spirit. Just remember to bring a torch for the car park and perhaps check the weather forecast before packing your stargazing gear.

A beautiful location and a very cosy pub, which served excellent food and had a great selection of drinks available. Our family room was hugely disappointing in terms of matching the description on their website and the cleanliness left something to be desired. However, the manager(Dave?) seemed genuinely mortified about it and as such I'll put it down to a one-off as mistakes happen. A special mention for Elle, who I spoke to on the phone a few days later, she was so friendly, understanding and helpful that we've decided to return in the future for another stay.

We had a great night here. It is a beatiful location. They have a great selection of beers and very nice food. They do get very busy and personally think the prices are a little on the high side but it is a very unique location.

We decided to stay a night at the Tan Hill Inn, after a few days in Richmond. This is a really cosy yet vibrant place set up 'on the top' of the hills near Richmond. Despite a misty arrival, with some ice a snow still around, the warmth of open fires soon had us feeling toasty. Every member of staff was friendly and the food and drink is also top notch!

Completely isolated with some fantastic long distance views over the dales. Beautiful pub inside with a large selection of ales. The food looked really good (not cheapest). Open fire, dog friendly and clean. Campervan parking for £10 donation to charity.

Got to be done if you're anywhere near here. Good choice of beers, good food choice too. Friendly staff. Above the snow line when we visited (February); expect it to be windy.
